Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi today starts the visit to MontenegroPodgorica, Janary 16, 2015 The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, today started the first official visit to Montenegro, where he will be hosted by the highest representatives of the state.
Initially, he will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro, Mr. Igor Lukshiq. Moreover, the Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi will meet the Prime Minister Milo Gjukanoviq, the President Filip Vujanoviq and the President of the Parliament, Ranko Krivokopiq
In these meetings will be discussed the deepening of cooperation between the two countries, economic and cultural exchange, joint infrastructural projects as well as regional cooperation and building of neighbourly relations.
Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi, during his stay in Podgorica, will also meet with key representatives of Montenegrin businesses, on which occasion he will invoke for more trade exchanges between Kosovo and Montenegro businesses.
Mr. Thaçi will continue his visit to Ulcin, whereby in a sign of honour, will place a wreath of flowers in the memorial dedicated to the deportees of the war in Kosovo during 1999.
Later on, Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi will meet key Albanian political representatives, with whom he will discuss Albanian`s current situation and advancement of their rights in Montenegro.
This is the first official visit of Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi to this neighbouring country and is being followed with great interest by the media and the public opinion in Montenegro.
