About the Embassy

The United States of America was among the first countries to recognize the independence of the Republic of Kosovo. The diplomatic relations were established on February 18, 2008, and in October 2008, Kosovo opened its Embassy in Washington, D.C.

One of the main functions of the Embassy  is to represent the Republic of Kosovo in the United States of America. The mission of the Embassy is to promote and empower development of political, economic and cultural relations with the United States of America, as well as to contribute to further strengthening of the U.S. and Kosovo relations. Republic of Kosovo considers the United States as its biggest partner, friend and supporter.
