Fifth graders from Washington learn about Kosovo

February 16, 2017, Washington DC

This year for the first time Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Washington D.C. participated at Embassy Adoption Program - a valuable partnership between Washington Performing Arts and D.C. Public Schools.

On the eve of Kosovo’s 9th Independence anniversary, fifth graders of the Powell Elementary School in Washington D.C. had the opportunity to meet with a Kosovo diplomat Lendita Haxhitasim and learn first-hand about Kosovo’s history, language and culture and its path to statehood.

This was the first of a series of classes that will continue through the end of the school year, when the students will have the opportunity to visit the Embassy and share with Ambassador what they have loved learning about Kosovo.
