Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj participates in the annual meeting of foreign ministers of the anti-ISIS coalitionWashington, March 22, 2017 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj participated in the annual meeting of foreign ministers of the anti-ISIS coalition, which was held in Washington.
While thanking Secretary Tillerson for organizing this meeting, Hoxhaj said that Kosovo has taken efficient measures in preventing and combating terrorism and religious extremism, as well as in preventing Kosovo citizens to join terrorist organizations.
“As the newest state in Europe, Kosovo is proud to be part of the Global Anti-ISIS Coalition, from the first day of establishment. At the same time, Kosovo is an example in the region in preventing violent extremism in Southeast Europe. We remain committed in contributing to European and global security”, said Hoxhaj.
In the margins of the meeting, Hoxhaj met also with the US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, whom he thanked for continued US support towards Kosovo emphasizing especially the excellent relations between the two countries.
On the other hand, in meetings with the foreign ministers of Cyprus, Poland, Austria, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Norway, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Singapore and many others, Hoxhaj asked for the support for membership of Kosovo to international organizations, diplomatic recognition of Kosovo, and expansion of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Hoxhaj is in an official visit to the United States of America where he met US Congressmen and Senators, and had meetings at the Supreme State Department.
