Republic of Kosovo established diplomatic relations with the Republic of El SalvadorNew York, 18 October 2014 The agreement to establish diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of El Salvador was signed in a ceremony organized at the premises of the Consulate of the Republic of Kosovo in New York.
The agreement was signed at the Head of Mission level, namely between General Consul of the Republic of Kosovo in New York, Mrs Vlora Citaku and Permanent Representative of El Salvador at the United Nations, Ambassador Ruben I. Zamora.
After the recognition of Kosovo by El Salvador, the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is another important step that demonstrates political interests of the two countries to strengthen friendship and mutual economic, cultural cooperation, etc. This was the conclusion of two state representatives and they agreed to intensify bilateral meetings and visits in order to exploit the opportunities of mutual interest. Also, it should be emphasized the fact that Ambassador Zamora (former Ambassador at Washington DC) has expressed his Government's readiness to assist Kosovo in providing new recognitions from the western hemisphere of the globe.
With this, the number of countries with which the Republic of Kosovo has signed diplomatic relations until now has reached 70 in total.
