Minister of Justice, Haki Demolli, meets Commission Vice-president, Ms. Viviane RedingKosovo Minister of Justice, Haki Demolli embarked on his first official visit to Brussels during which he met with Commission Vice-president, Viviane Reding. The issue of European integration process was broached, with particular interest paid to judicial reform and consolidation of the rule of law. Minister Demolli, among others, presented a request for assistance in institutionalizing cooperation with EUROJUST, which would help in strengthening of judicial cooperation between Kosovo and EU member countries and would lead to more effective proceedings in cases of grave cross-border crimes.
Vice President Reding highly appreciated latest achievements of Ministry of Justice and expressed readiness of the Commission to continue provide support for and cooperate with Kosovo institutions.
During his first official visit, Minister Demolli also had a number of meetings with officials of the European Commission, Council Secretariat and a number of Members of the European Parliament, to whom, in addition to information about the work of the ministry that he runs, he also expressed deep commitment to expand cooperation towards strengthening of the justice sector.
