The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Brussels organized a solemn reception in Luxembourg in honor of the 12th anniversary of the Independence of KosovoThe Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Brussels organized a solemn reception in Luxembourg in honor of the 12th anniversary of the Independence of Kosovo and the anniversary of the recognition of Kosovo by Luxembourg. This is the first time Kosovo hosted a solemn reception in Luxembourg.
The reception was held at the prestigious Cercle Cite Hall in the historic center of Luxembourg where many representatives of the diplomatic community, Luxembourg institutions, the Luxembourg Army, businesses, arts and culture as well as members of the Albanian diaspora who live and operate in Luxembourg.
In his welcoming address, the non-resident ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Luxembourg, HE. Bernard Nikaj recalled February 17, 2008, as well as the recognition of Luxembourg that followed on February 21, 2008. He thanked Luxembourg for the continuous assistance and support it provides to Kosovo and stressed that "without the engagement of political figures, the military, various activists, and especially the Albanian diaspora in Luxembourg, Kosovo would not be where it is today". Ambassador Nikaj reiterated Kosovo's commitment to further deepen and strengthen its friendship and partnership with Luxembourg.
The evening ended with a cocktail where guests were served Kosovar wine offered by Stone Castle as well as traditional food provided generously from the Kosovar-owned bakery Au Bon Pain from Bergem, Luxembourg.
