Ambassador Malazogu Presents the Credential Letters to the Republic of the Marshall IslandsMajuro, Marshall Islands, 16 June 2017 - Ambassador Leon Malazogu presented the Credential Letters from President Thaçi to the Vice-President at the same time Acting President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands H E Mrs Amenta Matthew.
He conveyed the greetings from the President Thaçi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs for close relations between the two countries. This is the first time that Kosovo accredits a non-resident ambassador to the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
Four ministers attended the ceremony. Acting President Ms. Mathew and ambassador Malazogu forwarded messages of friendship and emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation and mutual support within international organizations. Malazogu was warmly welcomed and assured that cooperation with the Marshall Islands will intensify.
During the visit in this country, ambassador Malazogu met with senior state officials, and also with the Minister of Foreign Affairs H. E. Mr. John M. Silk, with the Permanent Secretary of the MFA, the resident ambassadors of the US and Japan, and other officials.
The Republic of the Marshall Islands has recognized Kosovo’s independence on April 17, 2008, whereas bilateral diplomatic relations has been established on October 27, 2013. Ambassador Malazogu is with the residence in Tokyo and is the first Kosovo ambassador accredited to the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
